Pick up at 8.30. Travel via N1 to Paarl for a visit to Spice Route, for demonstrations of chocolate making, craft beer brewing and Venetian style glass blowing. Then to Fairview Wine Estate for cheese and wine tasting. We pass the Drakenstein Correctional Facility, from which Nelson Mandela was famously released in 1990, along the Berg River valley to the picturesque town of Franschhoek. Enjoy a stroll around town and have lunch (for own account) at one of the many fine restaurants or street cafes. After lunch we visit the Franschhoek Motor Museum then travel over Helshoogte Pass to Stellenbosch, for a brief tour of this beautiful town, famous for its wines, cheeses, oak trees and university. Return via the N2 to Cape Town by about 17.30.
