Pick up at 8.30. See some of the city sights en route to a stop and photo opportunity on Signal Hill, overlooking the city. We then travel along the Atlantic Seaboard, with its beautiful beaches and magnificent homes, to Hout Bay Harbour for a boat trip to Duiker Island where cape fur seals can be viewed in their natural environment. (A visit to the renowned Hout Bay World of Birds can be substituted as an alternative to the boat trip.) We then continue via the scenic Chapman’s Peak Drive, over the Old Cape Road mountain pass, to the leafy Constantia valley, famous for its fine wines. Visit a wine farm for wine tasting and lunch. After lunch we travel to Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens. A leisurely stroll through the gardens shows off some of the Cape’s vast diversity of plant and wild life. We then return to drop off points for the evening.
Pick up at 8.30. Travel along the False Bay coast via Muizenberg, Kalk Bay and Fish Hoek. Look out for sharks or whales in season. Stop at Jubilee Square in the historic naval town of Simonstown before visiting the famous penguin colony at Boulders Beach. We continue to Cape of Good Hope nature reserve. Enjoy spectacular views, the local “fynbos” vegetation and wild animals including baboons, antelope and birdlife, explore the Cape Point lighthouse and learn about shipwrecks and the legend of the Flying Dutchman. Enjoy lunch at Cape Point or other suitable venue along the route. After lunch we visit an ostrich farm, and then travel along the Atlantic coast back to Cape Town via Kommetjie. End the day with a cable car trip up the iconic Table Mountain for an overview of the city and surrounding areas.
